About the Draft 5-Year Calendar
The proposed calendar includes:
- a two-week spring break
- one administration day
- six professional development days for teachers
- three days for student assessments and parent-teacher interviews
A 5-year calendar provides stability for staff, students, and families. When building a school calendar, the district considers several priorities, such as:
- the minimum number of instructional hours as determined by the province
- meaningful breaks for students and families
- time for professional development, reporting, and assessment.
